Benderson Adds Venice Property to Portfolio

UNIVERSITY PARK, FL (June 10, 2024) —Benderson Development today announced the acquisition of North River Marketplace, a 51.52-acre site on the corner of East Venice Avenue and North River Road in Venice, FL. The future mixed-use property will serve the fast-growing area in south Sarasota County.

Benderson owns other properties nearby, including Jacaranda Plaza, which was a former K-Mart building that was completely transformed into a vibrant center on U.S. 41 just south of Center Road in Venice, and Cocoplum Village Shops, an open-air shopping destination along Tamiami Trail that was the first of its kind built in North Port in 25 years.

Headquartered in University Park, Benderson has been growing its portfolio exponentially over the last few years with acquisitions around the country totaling over $2 billion and more than 10 million sq. ft. Just over the last several months, Benderson acquired Monarch Ranch, a 3,400-acre industrial development site in Wildwood, FL; Glengary Shoppes in Sarasota, FL; Linton Commons in Delray Beach, FL; Publix Super Market at Olde Village in Englewood, FL; a free-standing Publix Super Market in Pompano Beach, FL; Bee Ridge Square in Sarasota, FL; and two Trader Joe’s in Columbia, SC, and Asheville, NC.
