Company Culture

To understand our culture is to understand our humble beginnings. Company Founder Nathan Benderson got his start at age 16 buying and selling bottles from breweries. In 1949, he purchased and redeveloped a bankrupt brewery in Buffalo, NY, establishing the foundation for his real estate development company, which today owns more than 1,000 properties totaling over 55 million square feet in 40 states.

Driven by our Founder’s entrepreneurial spirit, we are a fast-paced, energetic environment of excellence where people are given the resources and opportunities to grow. But above all, Benderson Development is a team. As a family-owned and operated business, we take as much pride and care in our employee community as we do in the communities we create and serve.

Like our employee community, we are invested in the local communities where we live and work. Our Founder was renowned for his philanthropy and the company has continued the tradition of giving back.
