Publix Joins Two Benderson Centers on Florida’s Gulf Coast

UNIVERSITY PARK, FL (December 22, 2025) — Shopping at two Benderson-owned properties along Florida’s Gulf Coast will soon be “where shopping is a pleasure,” as the company today announced that Publix Super Markets will join North River Marketplace in Venice and Gateway Shoppes in Naples.

Publix will anchor North River Marketplace, a new 51-acre ground-up development located along the rapidly growing North River Road corridor at I-75 in Venice. Designed to serve the growing residential communities, the project will feature a mix of retail, restaurants and specialty services centered around the new Publix, creating a convenient destination for everyday needs.

In Naples, Publix will open a new grocery store at Gateway Shoppes, which is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The revitalized center — located along US 41 at Wiggins Pass Road, adjacent to the Kalea Bay luxury residential towers and the acclaimed Kinsale Golf Club — will showcase an exciting new tenant lineup and deliver a first-class shopping and dining experience to the Naples community.

“We’re looking forward to delivering a premier shopping experience at North River Marketplace and Gateway Shoppes, creating important destinations with a strong mix of uses to serve the needs of the surrounding communities,” said Randy Benderson, managing director of Benderson Development.

In addition, Benderson will begin a redevelopment in Palm Bay, Florida, in 2026 that will be anchored by Publix.
